Pre-College Programs Scholarship information College information for Students with Disabilities NJ Stars I and NJ Stars IINJ STARS is a scholarship program exclusively for New Jersey residents that covers the cost of tuition and approved fees at New Jersey’s 19 community colleges.
New Jersey community college NJ STARS students who earn their associate’s degrees with a 3.25 grade point average or better are eligible for NJ STARS II at any New Jersey public four-year college or university. This scholarship was formally known as the "Jersey Shore Pop Warner" scholarship.
Any graduating senior that played football or was a cheerleader/dance team member with the Jersey Shore Pop Warner/NJAYFat any level for at least one year and plans to attend an accredited college/university in the fall of 2012 is eligible to apply. The application process has begun for the 2012-2013 academic year. The program has openings for 400 students. The program uses an online application which students can access on the Columbia University SHP web page:
www.columbia.edu/cu/shp/apply.html The deadline for the SHP receipt of student online applications is March 1, 2012. Mailed official transcripts and online letters of recommendation must be received no later than March 22, 2012. Admission decisions will be announced by June 20, 2012. ParentsKean University is presenting a new class for young adults interested in going to college who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Transition to College will run from March 6, 2012 - April 24, 2012 Tuesdays 4:15 to 5:15.
Students will received an introduction to strategies to be a successful college student. They will also explore a variety of campus activities including sports, computer labs and student clubs.
